The design is connected to the attire of Queen Mariam Dadiani and her son Otia, where Georgian noble dress meets Eastern ornamental influence. The floral, plant-based ornament is associated with a 17th–18th-century depiction connected to Svetitskhoveli and a copy by Grigory Gagarin.
As part of Giovanni Morra’s Georgian Textile project, this historical Georgian textile motif is reinterpreted as a refined contemporary accessory. The tie is suitable for weddings, celebrations, business attire and other special occasions.
