The design is inspired by clothing motifs depicted in a 17th-century fresco of the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin in Martvili. Its botanical character and refined composition reflect the visual language of historical Georgian textile art.
As part of Giovanni Morra’s Textile From Georgia project, this historical motif is reinterpreted as a contemporary accessory for formalwear, weddings, celebrations and other special occasions.
