The ornament is inspired by the embroidery motifs of the Megrelian queen’s dress depicted on the fresco of the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin in Martvili. This refined decorative element of the 17th century preserves an important trace of Georgian aristocratic aesthetics and the culture of craftsmanship.
